Greetings!

I plan on running nine western Upper Peninsula counties this weekend. As
I'll be "solo", I intend to park and operate about 50 minutes in each
county, then drive to the next spot without much operation in between.
Counties will be run in this order: Iron, Gogebic, Ontonagon, Houghton,
Baraga, Marquette, Dickinson, Menominee, and Delta. I'll be on both CW and
SSB on 20 and 40 meters, and only CW on 80 meters.

Is anyone familiar with that portion of M69 that runs NW - SE through the
northern portion of Menominee County?  I need to find a safe pullover spot
along that road after sunset, and the only communities along the route are
Helps (!?!), Eaunus, Whitney, and Perronville. They ain't much. The entire
stretch appears to be forested and swamp. Yes .... I admit (boo hoo) at the
age of 61, I'm still afraid of the dark, 'cuz of the Boogeyman, the Creature
from the black cedar swamp, UFOs, and drunks coming out of taverns with
baseball bats in hand checkin' out strange vehicles with antennas on the
top.  LOL!
