Another way encourage activity might be to give a certificate to each
"winner" in each county, state, etc. and category. Certificates are </b></font><font

can be printed on regular paper for next to nothing - or on parchment
paper for <10¢ each, plus a bit of postage.</b></font><br>

For example, the Nebraska QSO party, coming up this weekend, gives a

certificates to top scorers in each category from each Florida county,

These "little niceties" which take only a small amount of time and very
little money for postage and supplies, all add up to increased activity.<br>

One way that might encourage people to participate is to add an award for the most QSOs worked in a certain period of time. It could be two hours or four or whatever. That way if they couldn't work the entire contest, they could still get some recognition for their efforts.
