Another year of unfavorable propagation for working the counties. I went to 80M in the second hour of the contest and was getting excited to hear counties, but my SWR went south on the dipole during the second contact. Was able to load the 160M sloper and continue but it limited my frequency agility requiring the tuner to be retuned to go from CW to SSB. It was my weakest hour with only 38 QSOs.

My goal had been to set the state record but it looks like I may have missed it by one mult or 10 QSOs, darn it. Guess I shouldn't have taken the few minutes to trouble shoot the dipole.

Had fun anyway. The stations on 20 SSB were endless and hard to pull away from the piles but you got to do CW too if you are going to make the grade. Interesting enough I asked many stations on 20 SSB to move to 20 CW for the mult but CW wasn't a priority. Oh well, one QSO is better than none. Hope that isn't the shape of things to come in the future.

Most worked mults were:

Too bad that DX is only good for a QSO and not a mult. I might have turned the beam to Europe if that had been the case.

Missed AK, CT, DE, IA, ME, and ND on SSB. Missed AK, AR, HI, KY, ME, ND, MT SC, SD, and VT on CW. Missed most of the county mults.
