Many of you know that I build Excel workbooks for some
of the major QSO Parties. These tools DO support
estimated times of arrival and county duration. I am
looking for a web programmer that would like to invest
time into developing a 'stand alone' web application
that can be deployed by QSO Party sponsors. The goal
would be to capture the route for each mobile and
calculate the ETAs and other information, post the
results for review and approval by the mobile station,
and then create a page showing the combined activity
of all mobile operations.<br>

opinion that having an estimated county
schedule makes the process of chasing
and logging mobiles a lot more fun for
all the participants.<br>

Can't comment on your particular operation, but the explanation of how to submit proposed operation on the entry page seems to confuse many people. It's apparently no obvious to the casual user that if you're a mobile or other type operation which will involve more than one county, you select the first county on the list with a mouse, then depress the "CONTROL" key, and select others. There were several multiple entry messages, spaced a minute or less apart, for some of the mobile operations. I interpreted these as an individual trying to tell us that he/she was planning a mobile operation and was entering the
counties sequentially. This resulted in only one of the counties being ultimately listed on the activity map.
A minor adjustment of the directions to include something like "for mobiles who plan to cover mutiple counties, select the first county on the list, hold down the control key, then
scroll down to the next, click on it, scroll down again to the next, etc......."
Since you were active at the time of these deletions, it probably didn't affect your score. Few serious contesters would be checking e-mail during the contest.
