This was the first time I operated in this contest in many many years.  Like 
others, I sure was disappointed in the band conditions.
Worked high power phone only since my cw only seems to work only when I am 
very alert. (comes with age I guess)
Made 391 Q's from Ingham county with best result on 40 meters,  if you count 
the west coast as a good result!  Worked only a handful of Michigan counties 
on 40 so about 5 PM I went to 75 meters where I was able to pick up about 30 
counties.
 I didn't work any in state mobiles except for W8EO/M.  Guess they didn't 
like my voice!  Finally, quit at 9 pm due to voice giving out but I at least 
got 8 operating hours in!
No final score yet since I need to clean up the log from my errors....yes, 
even I made errors.  My final score appears to be around 36,500 points.  I 
guess that's fair for phone only....How about that Grand Traverse  county! 
They really got there act together with lot's of activity.
Thanks to all who heard and worked me...hope the propagation Gods are better 
to us next year. At least we were blessed with NO QRN from spring storms.
My only suggestion would be to start the contest in the morning, say 9am to 
9pm.  This would help during poor band days since the mornings do exhibit 
the best propagation times.  Can get to bed earlier too!
