[MiQP-Mail] Challenge for MiQP Ops

Ladies and Gentlemen:

I looked over (part) of the list of "records" for power classifications
for various counties in MiQP, and there appears a number which have not
had a (reported) fixed station entry. There are many, "probably" >>50%,
which do not have a QRP category record. In 2012 we only had 45 of the
83 counties reported with Single Op, fixed operation. In 2011 there
were 44such entries. In 2010, only 40. A few more may be represented by
multi-op, but very few uniquely multi-op. I haven't gone back to earlier
daze, butit would seem, we're making progress, but very, very,
excruciatingly slowly.

So, if you're in a club which has representation from more than one
county, please, pretty please, talk up the Michigan QSO party. This
isn't one of those "blood and guts" contests, one can operate at a
fairly leisurely pace oneither SSB or CW (or both) and make quite a few
contacts. It would be nice to get a majority of counties represented by
one or more fixed stations from each of the 83 counties. That might be
a stretch. But, if we could get, say 10 or 15 more counties represented
by fixed stations, might that be a goal?

Or, do like I've been doing... If you're in a county with several
entries, check the records for counties around your county, and make a
mini-dxpedition to a nearby county which has a low or non-existent
record for fixed station operation in your category of choice. For QRP
that's very easy. For other categories, there are many with no record or
very low score for the record.

How about it? Lettuce C if we can drum up more biz for MiQP - and make
it even better! It's a fun, fun, contest- if you think similarly, please
join me, let's hear a cacophony of people "beating the drums" for our
fellow hams to activate their counties on April 20, 2013!
